Debbie Bahr is the Project Manager for the Family Transitions Project.  She is responsible for all phases of data collection for this longitudinal social science survey research project.  In 2008, the project is entering its twentieth year after maintaining a 90% retention rate for several waves of data collection.

The project has two components - an adult component that is following the original Targets from the Iowa Youth and Families Project and the Iowa Single Parents Project, and a child component that is following the first born child of the Targets.  We began in 1997 with less than 30 families with these third generation children and in 2007-2008 worked with around 380 families with children.

Some of her major responsibilities are working with these families to ensure their continued participation and supervising data collection, as well as coordinating with Data Unit staff and project investigators and researchers about tasks related to those issues.
